What groups do you work with?
School trips, tour operators, church groups, family reunions, corporate teams, military units, youth organizations, and government agencies, among others. If your group is traveling to Washington, DC or Philadelphia, it would be our pleasure to photograph them.
How many people can be in the photo?
We photograph groups of 3 to 3,000+. Our panoramic format is built for large groups, wide and beautifully composed, with every face visible in a single frame.
Which landmark or monument is right for our group?
It depends on what kind of photo you want to walk away with. Every location we shoot has its own feel and its own place in American history. We put together a full guide to help you decide.

How far in advance should we book?
Many of our groups book six months to a year in advance, especially for spring trips. We recommend reserving your date as early as you can. That said, if a date is available on our calendar, please feel free to reserve it.
How long does a group photo session take?
Most sessions wrap in 10 to 15 minutes. We handle all positioning and coordination so your itinerary stays on track.
What if we are running late or need to change the time of our reservation?
Things happen and we make rescheduling easy for you. If your group is running behind or ahead of schedule, contact us at 202.544.6065 or info@centralphotocompany.com. You can also reschedule directly using the link in your booking confirmation email.
Do you handle permits at DC landmarks?
Yes. Every required permit is handled before your group arrives. When you show up, everything is already in place.
Where do we meet for the Grant Memorial?
We meet groups at one of two spots depending on where you're coming from. If you're arriving by bus, we'll meet you at either the Peace Memorial circle on the north side or the Garfield Memorial circle on the south side and walk with your group through the grounds to our portrait position. If you're coming from the National Mall, we'll meet you near the Reflecting Pool on the west end and guide you across to the Grant Memorial. Your booking confirmation email will have your specific meeting point, or call us at 202.544.6065 if you have questions before your session.
Can we order prints or frames after our session?
Yes. Every portrait is available through our Legacy Framing service — and so is nearly anything in our archive going back to 1919. Physical prints can be scanned, restored, and framed. You can also order the frame on its own if you already have the print.
